A deck bed skirt attaches to a piece of fabric that goes between the mattress and box spring. This allows the mattress to firmly hold the skirt in place. The drawback to this type of skirt is that when it comes time to clean the skirt you have to lift the mattress to remove the bed skirt. If you choose this type of bed skirt, your measurements will have to be exact as they are not adjustable. The panel-type construction attaches to the best platform bed with a series of pins. The advantage to this is that they are easier to install and remove and when you do your measurements, you do not have to be exact as they are adjustable up to several inches. The disadvantage is that they do not stay in place as well and will need to be adjusted occasionally.
