As with anything that has a frame, the frame of a bed is an essential part of its structure. When it comes time to purchase a  twin platform bed you may be amazed by all the choices that you have. So how do you narrow your search down to a reasonable number of frames?

The first choice you have that will help to narrow the choices is to decide what size bed frame you want. The size of your bedroom will play a part in the answer to this question. Along with size, the quality of the bed frame will help to narrow the choices but make sure that you fulfill your own personal needs and desires when choosing a frame. When speaking of the quality of a bed frame it normally refers to what material the frame is made of and how much weight will it support.

For For the most part steel twin frames will support the most weight so if you are putting a king size mattress and box springs on a frame you may want to look into the steel frames especially if the people using the bed are large. If you are set on a wood frame, there are wood frames to fit any need or situation but they may cost a little more. As with most all products, if your frame comes with a warranty you can be confident, it is a quality bed frame. Another consideration is to determine what style of twin frame you need. For instance, if you want a sleigh bed rather than a standard bed you will want to look at the frames that will accommodate the head and footboard of a sleigh bed. Is the bed for children or more than one child? This may require a bunk bed style of frame.

Some frames can be adjusted to fit any size mattress and some are for one size only. Therefore, if you think that you are going to be changing the size of your twin size platform bed in the near future you may want to look at the adjustable frames. When choosing a bed frame remember that it is the base of your entire bed and if you want to get a good night's sleep for years to come it is better to spend a little more on a higher quality frame. Also if you are going to put a king or queen-size pillow-top mattress on the frame be aware those types of mattresses are considerably heavier than a standard mattress and will require a heavier duty frame to support the mattress, box spring, and the people using the bed.
